Jacob Morton, M.Ed

Founder || Coach Education Specialist

Coach Jacob has had Pursuit Sports on his mind for a few years now and he’s happy to finally execute on the vision. After three years as Program Director at The-Skill-Factory, Jacob decided to leave coaching athletes and dive into developing and educating coaches.

With stints in youth, high school, and post-graduate basketball, Coach Jacob has spent years in the space identifying and observing the issues coaches face on a routine basis. The goal of Pursuit Sports Group is to give coaches a platform and a resource to develop in ways they maybe haven’t considered, or thought to be feasible, before. Coach Jacob is motivated to help coaches provide athletes with psychologically safe learning environments that promote skill acquisition and human development with evidence-based principles.

In his free time, Coach Jacob is probably with his dogs, at a concert, or spending time checking out the food scene in Atlanta with his friends.

Kayla DeHerrera

Sports Psychology Intern, Oglethorpe University

Kayla is joining us as a student intern from Oglethorpe University where she is majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Psychology. As a member of Oglethorpe’s women’s basketball team, being a student-athlete has inspired her passion for learning about the field of sports psychology and sports performance. Her decision to become a part of the Pursuit Sports Group team stems from her aspirations to make an impact on the lives of youth athletes by linking the importance of physical and mental health within their sports. Through this internship, Kayla is also hoping to further her knowledge of how to build, manage, and maintain a business in order to become a successful entrepreneur.

In her free time, Kayla is most likely spending time with her family and friends, hiking, going to a concert, working out, or watching a good show/movie.
